BIOGRAPHY

Catherine Curtis-Walsh is a Family Law Associate who has worked almost exclusively in Family Law for over eight years. She is able to quickly grasp complex and complicated family law matters and confidently move matters towards resolution in an amicable and time effective way. Catherine is empathetic when communicating with clients, with a deep understanding of how stressful and difficult relationship breakdowns can be and how engaging with the legal system can be overwhelming. Catherine is passionate about providing high quality assistance to clients to make the best possible decisions for their children and themselves, ensuring agreed outcomes suit each family’s needs and can endure long after settlement. 

Catherine has extensive Court experience in State and Federal family law courts, including complicated parenting matters, assisting Grandparents, blended families, same sex relationships and sensitive cultural issues. Catherine has represented many clients at mediations and has strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills. Catherine always attempts to resolve matters at the earliest possible opportunity to save costs and avoid further difficulties associated with Court proceedings. Catherine has effectively managed matters from negotiation up to trial, when issues remain in dispute despite best efforts to resolve them in a fair way.

Catherine has an incredible ability to understand each person’s unique family situation and explain legal concepts in a straightforward and simple way. Catherine offers tailored advice in a supportive way aiming to provide reassurance and confidence when deciding on the best solution for your family.

Outside of work Catherine enjoys riding her bike, tennis, cross stitch and reading.
